Russian biophysics created a new kind of antioxidant proteins
Specialists of the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS CSI) under the guidance of Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Vladimir Novoselov, have created a new type of antioxidant proteins, the world's first PTD-modified peroxiredoxins showed high efficacy in the treatment of acute inflammation and wounds.
Russian scientists have long been engaged in research on the effectiveness peroxiredoxins in the fight against various diseases and premature functional impairment. But right now, they have managed to make a breakthrough, detect and characterize new protein-antioxidant olfactory epithelium - peroxiredoxin VI. According to experts, the results can make a revolution in the methods of organ preservation during transplant operations in the bodies as well as in the treatment of pathologies involving oxidative stress.
Recall that the employees IBK RAS has implemented many projects of global significance. In particular, they have been created and updated Cryobank of rare and endangered species of plants and animals, as well as a new method of spectroscopy of biomolecules and cells based on detection of infrared emission of light-induced, as well as a new method for the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
