On the set of the movie "Poltergeist" real skeletons were used because they are cheaper than props

"Poltergeist" was released in 1982 and was the most successful film of the trilogy of the same name. Writer and producer of the film was Steven Spielberg. The plot is as follows: the family moved to a new home in California suburb where their youngest daughter kidnapped evil ghosts, living in it for a long time.

During the filming of a scene in the pool used real human skeletons and many participants filming this, of course, did not like: they believed that the bones bring upon movie curse. Special effects artist Craig Reardon, who worked on the film, said that the use of these skeletons were cheaper than buying imitations of plastic, because plastic skeletons had to make to order.

Actress Jo Beth Williams involved in this scene, skeletons was not afraid, but nervous about something else - around it was water and a bunch of electric wires. Spielberg has climbed into the water during the filming of this scene and "reassured" the actress, saying that if that happens, they both die.
