EU подтвердил plans to install on cars and minibuses system eCall, automatically informing rescue services about the accident. The technology will be implemented in all new vehicles in the territory of member countries with April 2018.





In 2014, on the roads of the European Union killed 25,700 people. From the system is expected to decline in the response time of services by 40-50% depending on the area, which will save up to 2,500 lives a year. System eCall establish voice communications with operators and will give basic data - the type of vehicle , location and time of the accident. Passengers and witnesses will be able to manually activate the system by pressing the button.

The representative of the Czech Republic Olga Zeynalov in the European Parliament pointed out that public service will be free for citizens, regardless of the type of vehicle and its price. Installation of the system will cost autoconcerns 109 dollars per car, but the driver will be able to upgrade the system for an additional fee.

Olga Zeynalov said separately on the safety of the system in terms of personal data: it is assured that the system is only triggered after the accident - at the time of airbag deployment.
