Oracle won an appeal against Google
Oracle Corp. won a key case against Google. US Court of Appeals ruled: Oracle owns the copyright to parts of the programming language Java, use Google when developing OS Android. "We came to the conclusion that the set of instructions causing a computer to perform the desired operations can contain expressions subjected to copyright" - says Judge Kathleen O'Malley federal district.
In 2010, Oracle sued Google for copyright infringement on the part of the Java for Android. Oracle has estimated the damage at one billion dollars.
