A large exhibition Semak (21 photos)

Paul the great hall at the London gallery Tate Modern, UK, this week carpeted ten cm in thickness from 100 million hand-painted porcelain sunflower seeds that have become part of a new installation, a famous Chinese artist named Ai Wei Wei (Ai Wei Wei). In order to create these seeds, 1600 Chinese worked for two and a half years.

Visitors to the exhibition offers a walk on the seeds and to play with them. And every day the gallery staff will flatten the seeds for the next visitors. Ai Wei Wei said that the seeds represent a famine in China during the reign of Mao Zedong, as if it were the only seeds easily accessible to millions of Chinese food.
