In 1970 Kalinin Carriage Works has finished the production of the car, called DES (high-speed car-laboratory).
The body of the car is a high-speed motor body ER22 head coach, who put the head and tail fairings and undercar equipment and undercarriage covered on both sides with removable bulwarks.

On the roof of the car at the head part of a special pylon has two aircraft turbojet engine Yak-40, which provide the necessary thrust for
movement of the car.

In 1971, an experimental car was tested on line Golutvin - Ozery Moscow road where the speed reached 187 km / h. Then, in early 1972 the car traveled on a plot Novomoskovsk - Ball Dnieper railway, which gradually increased the maximum speed (160, 180, 200 km / h).
The result of the test was the velocity of 249 km / h.

After completion of the tests DES was thrown in the back of Kalinin Carriage Works from Art. Doroshiha. There he is to this day.
