French historian and photographer Jacques Dyupake (Jacques Dupaquier) several times visited the Soviet Union. He traveled to Smolensk, Minsk and Moscow. He especially loved by the capital - he visited her together with a small delegation in September 1956. Dyupake told me that he loved walking alone through the streets of Moscow, having only the camera. In those years, Soviet society is experiencing a moral catastrophe after Khrushchev's speech at the Twentieth Congress. No one knows what is and what is not. He was struck by the fact that in 1956 the mighty Moscow more than half was a wooden city, and beyond the main streets of poverty reigned.
