Deepwater drone crab realized in metal

Autonomous underwater vehicle Crabster CR200 finally ceased to be a project of the drawing board and is embodied in the form of a prototype. In the video, the robot controls the inventor, Bong Joon-huang (Bong-huan Jun).

That's the way the authors of the robot sees its application on the seabed:

The robot developed by the Korea Institute of Oceanology and Technology (Korean Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, KIOST) for the study of shipwrecks and underwater currents at depths up to 200 m. The maximum speed of the calculated 1, 5 m / s at a water pressure of 25 atmospheres.

Rear four legged robot has four degrees of freedom, and the front two - six degrees. So that the robot can even schedule above the bottom. The machine is equipped with 10 cameras, the front legs can grip things and put in the front compartment.

Currently the robot is powered by a cable from a ship, but the following modifications will be equipped with its own power supply, able to swim like a sea turtle and dive to a depth of 6000 m. The next month, is expected to start testing the first prototype.
