BAFTA 2014: the winners

List of winners of the Independent Award British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is hardly expected. Yes, that really there - British academics have not only confusion in the established order of things, choosing as winners of their favorites, but also opened to the public the names of new stars, some of which are likely to take the stage for the coveted "Oscar". Let's take a look at the newly victors - the heroes need to know in person!

BAFTA ceremony yesterday forced the director and producer of the film "12 Years a Slave" Steve McQueen highly nervous. Presented in ten categories picture, almost to the end of the evening was an outsider, having received only one award, when he was named the best film of the year. Victory in this category is definitely worth all the other.

Following McQueen received the award and his client Chiwetel Ejiofor. Performer of Solomon Northup walked in an unequal race of monsters from the world of cinema, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Christian Bale. Here you have another contender for the "Oscar»!

Deserved award for Best Actress Cate Blanchett received. British academics find her work in the film "Jasmine" Woody Allen more images created on the screen Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock. Assessing the actor playing all three actresses, I can say that my sympathy is on the side of Kate.

The biggest surprise for the audience was winning the novice actor Barkhada Abdi, who took the "Golden Mask" for supporting actress in the film "Captain Phillips." That's how it happens - first appeared in a movie, you will not only fall as a bonus to working with Tom Hanks himself, but also a BAFTA award in the bargain.

Taking the last year all the awards except Award BAFTA, for the film "My boyfriend - crazy," Jennifer Lawrence to catch up in this time. The actress was recognized as the best in the category "Actress", beating the universal favorite of Lupita Nyong'o. Unfortunately, Jen could not personally receive the award because of employment on the set of the new part of "The Hunger Games", but that its importance in the world of contemporary cinema has not diminished.

Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Lawrence ("American Hustle»)

The film "American Hustle" also won an award for best original screenplay. Do not quite understand why the picture of David O. Russell was presented as an original story, because the film is based on real events, but the choice of academics has fallen on her. In addition, the reel of film, whose actions are developed in the 70s, has been awarded for the best hair and make-up. At this point I have no complaints - superseksualnuyu makeup heroine Amy Adams curls character Bradley Cooper and expertly combed bald hero Christian Bale were beyond praise.

The following few lines of this post will be a little ode to the talent and hard work of director Alfonso Cuaron with his triumphant creation of "Gravity". The painting, in which the main role performed by Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, was honored at yesterday's ceremony with six awards, among which were the "Best British Film" and "The producer's work." In addition, the film was recognized as the best in terms of sound, editing and camera work. Seems to me that the "Oscar" for the technical bells and whistles also depart "Gravity».

Unexpectedly and selection of the winner in the category of "Breakthrough of the Year." At that time, as critics predicted victory Lyupite Nyong'o or so at worst Léa Seydoux, BAFTA members chose their favorite little boy Will Poulter. Apparently, they were so pleased with his performance in the comedy hit TLC "We - Miller" that they simply could not deprive work 21-year-old actor his attention.

Despite the fact that the film "The Great Gatsby" was not present in the main categories, drama Baz Luhrmann took two awards in the categories of secondary - Costume Design and operation of an art director.
