Hispanic '53 alone to build their own temple
The Spaniard and former monk Justo Gallego Martinez spent nearly '53 to build its own large cathedral in Madrid. Its Cathedral - a huge building, created in the image of a Christian cathedral, where he was the only one working, the designer and the designer. History surprising structures, see under the cut.
Construction began in 1961 on land inherited from parents Martinez. Here, he is the only designer, engineer, and work. The material is used for the construction of everything that manages to get - old bricks, the barrel - any trash. But sometimes, and local businesses donate him some building materials.
General construction plan of the cathedral on paper it does not exist, according to the author of the project "in his head".
Martinez has bequeathed to their offspring of the Catholic Church and hoped that even after his death, there will be held church services.
Public attitudes to the original architectural feat ambiguous: skeptics insist on putting an end to the endless construction and all carry, while others believe that even in the rough cathedral attracts tourists and deserves to declare it an architectural monument.
