In Algeria, there is a lake, where instead of water - ink

This unique natural phenomenon is located nearby the city Sidi Bel Abbes in Algeria. It does not live fish, no plants grow. Ink, which is filled with a lake instead of water, are toxic to living organisms, and are suitable only for writing. The phenomenon of the ink of the lake has long remained a mystery for scientists. Recently, it became finally clear how such an unusual substance appeared in the lake instead of water. It turns out that in this lake flow into the two rivers. In one of them in dissolved form contains a lot of iron salts. The second contains a variety borrowed from peat bogs organic compounds.
