New crack

Antarctica detected a new crack in Pine Island Glacier. She was found by a German satellite TerraSAR-X.

According to scientists, in the near future is expected to form a new giant iceberg the size of New York, which will appear next to South America. This is the second crack in the glacier Pine Aylend.

The first crack was seen a year ago, but in September of this year, the satellite TerraSAR-X found on the left of the first one more. Large crack width is about 243 m depth in some places - 55 m, according to ABC News. Its length is about 30 km, while it continuously increases.
