Wild West of the second half of XIX-th century
Documentary photographer John Grabill (John Grabill) left behind a huge legacy in the form of photos, which were made in the second half of the nineteenth century. Here is a short selection of his images.
Most of these photos were taken in Deadwood, where at that time held the notional boundary between the territory of the United States and Indian settlements. Here, in the distant 1875 was discovered a gold mine and thousands of adventurers immediately went in search of fame and fortune. Grabillu John (John Grabill) lucky enough to capture this time in their pictures. In total, the Library of Congress now contains over two hundred photographs in made by that person.
