The International Committee of the Red Cross warns of an impending humanitarian disaster in north-eastern Sri Lanka. Up to 150 thousand people living in the area may become hostages of hostilities between government forces and the separatist group "Tamil Tigers". Victims of armed conflict have become not less than 80 thousand people.
