Technical hemp in Ukraine: why grow it for farmers?
18
Cultivation of technical hemp in Ukraine is allowed at the legislative level, provided that the entrepreneur has a package of permits. The culture is called commercial, which completely determines its application - all parts of the plant, including hemp seeds, are sold, processed and used in industry. Of course, businessmen make contributions to the state treasury, so the development of the industry is beneficial for both agricultural workers and the country as a whole.
Applications of technical hemp
Commercial varieties allowed in Ukraine are bred for specific purposes. For example, some varieties contain a high percentage of oil, they are more suitable for the food industry. And other fibrous, they are used for processing into fabric, added to straw in building materials.
Hemp oil is not only sold as a separate product, but also included in cosmetics and preparations. It has regenerative properties, slows down the aging process, helps to cope with bronchitis and gastrointestinal diseases. People who adhere to the principles of healthy eating, add hemp oil to the usual dishes.
Other parts of the hemp plant are processed into environmentally friendly materials. Often it is a fiber, from which later sew overalls, interior items, bags, shoes. Hemp is also made of ropes, widely used in navigation and sailing. Such ropes do not deteriorate under the influence of sea water, do not rot and retain their strength for a long time.
Hemp is also processed for paper production because the plant has a high concentration of an alternative cellulose substance. In the furniture industry, chipboard is made from technical hemp, and for upholstery of upholstered furniture, a durable cloth of hemp fibers is made. Manufacturers note not only the environmental friendliness of these materials, but also high wear resistance.
Why should the industry be developed?
First of all, it will attract tax revenues to the country’s budget. As well as the cultivation of technical hemp will stop deforestation, establish the production of environmentally friendly, hypoallergenic goods that do not harm health. In the near future, it is planned to expand the area allocated for growing this crop, and regulatory authorities are considering simplifying the documentation procedure for farmers who plan to grow and process hemp.
