Ukrainians will be able to exchange old light bulbs for modern ones from January 16

What should be done in every Ukrainian home lightbulb? Or even five light bulbs? Interesting perspective, isn't it? To do this, the state launched a program to exchange old serviceable incandescent lamps for new LED lamps. They are more economical, which in the current situation can help the whole Ukraine.



After large-scale missile attacks by Russians on Ukrainian infrastructure, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed for help to European colleagues. He noted that even a tiny light bulb can play an important role in a critical situation. Modern lamps are much more energy efficient.

We have listened to the request of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to transfer 50 million LED lamps to the people of Ukraine. These light bulbs are 88% more energy efficient than older incandescent bulbs. 50 million light bulbs can save 1 GW of electricity. This is a colossal figure in conditions of war, Ursula von der Leyen said in her address on December 13 at the international conference “Solidarity with the Ukrainian people”.



The light bulb exchange mechanism is launched on January 16, 2023. However, so far in test mode and only in six regions of the country. But there will be more. Only at the first stage of the program it is planned to exchange about 500 thousand lamps. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that now the figures in payments of Ukrainians will be much lower. 2 weeks after January 16 lamp-exchange You have to make money as usual.



Peels Exchange Process So How light up totally free? Every adult Ukrainian can get 5 lamps if he submits an application. This can be done in the annex “Dia”. After processing the application, you will need to wait for a call or SMS to the phone number specified in the application. Then come to the office of Ukrposhta with documents confirming the identity and pick up the lamps.

For those who do not use the Diya application, you can immediately go to the Ukrposhta office. Let’s say it could be older people. If the lamps are available in the selected department of Ukrposhta, then they can be exchanged. It is important to note that only working incandescent lamps are exchanged.



In case a person received a faulty LED lamp, he can return it and get a new one. Provided that the packaging of the lamp will be preserved, as well as all necessary documents. The exchange can only be done once. If a person left an application for a lamp exchange and did not come, his request will be cancelled.



The process of exchanging lamps will begin in large cities and regional centers. But over time, light bulbs can be obtained in any post office, even the smallest. The approximate time when the lamps will reach tiny settlements is the end of February.
