UN envoy Ben Stiller visits Kiev to express support for Ukraine

Comedies with Ben Stiller I am sure many of our readers have seen it. The American began his film career back in 1987 and since then has starred in more than fifty films. I managed to work as a comedian, director, screenwriter and producer. And even, for example, voiced characters in cartoons. So, the famous lion Alex in Madagascar speaks with the voice of Ben Stiller.



Of course, in the filmography of the actor is not only comedy. Surely film lovers with experience will remember even the drama Empire of the Sun 1987, in which Ben made his debut. The film also featured young John Malkovich and 13-year-old Christian Bale.



But in the comedy “Reality bites” in 1994, Ben Stiller not only played a major role, but also tried himself as a director. Later there was the comedy “Cableman”, where, under the guidance of director Stiller, Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick shone on the screen.

He is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Refugees. Therefore, his arrival in Ukraine a few days ago was quite understandable and logical. June 20 is World Refugee Day. And because of the invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine, more than 5 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and go abroad.



Hollywood movie star visited Makarov, Kiev region. In the town, which was under Russian occupation, the actor was able to see with his own eyes much of what happened to the locals.



Then Ben Stiller visited the capital of Ukraine, where he even managed to take pictures on Khreshchatyk with several passers-by. He also met with President Vladimir Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

Later, the American admitted that his goal was to see with his own eyes what was happening, listen to eyewitnesses and understand the details of how the war changed the lives of ordinary people.

“No one voluntarily chooses to flee their home. Safety is a right that everyone should have, Ben said.



Stiller also spoke with Ukrainian refugees in Poland. And on June 19 he visited Lviv, where Angelina Jolie had previously visited. By the way, this famous actress holds the same position. She's also a UN ambassador.



Regular visits to Ukraine by well-known people give Ukrainians the necessary support in difficult times. Celebrities help to remind the world that the war is going on, that Ukrainians continue to suffer. And that everyone needs to do more to make peace happen sooner.
