What We Learn from Tolkien's Amazing Worlds, Where Orcs Fight Elves

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by fiction. Perhaps one of my favorite books was The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkien. There was so much interesting about her... However, the most curious was the variety of magical races: elves, hobbits, orcs, goblins. I still like Orc movies, as well as fantastic movies. I didn’t think they would ever get so close to reality.

Today, orcs are found not only in the magical worlds of Tolkien. This race is present in many games, for example. The word has an ancient resemblance and is found in the annals of different countries. For example, for the Romans, the word orcus It was another name for Pluto. The Greeks called the son of Eris, the goddess of chaos and strife. In the Scandinavians, this word meant “monster”.

Instagram / @tallifer_marks Mass spread of the word was due to Tolkien and his books. In the author's literature, orcs are depicted ugly invaders who have only cruelty and violence in mind. Managing orcs is quite simple, because they are not too smart. They usually become cannon fodder for cruel rulers – those who want to quickly seize power in lands that do not belong to them.

Now orcs are often called the people of a very specific state, and especially the army of this large country. This is not surprising, because all the characteristics agree. These people arrange demonstrative punishments, do not know how to fight honestly and They constantly violate international laws in an attempt to achieve the goals of their mad master.. Doesn't it look like Orcs? They are used to mindlessly obeying orders, and they are easily influenced by propaganda and the ability to bring fear and horror to the world.

Instagram / @sparta_cos The very concept of humanity for Orcs is unfamiliar. They live in an imaginary world ruled only by physical force. In the world, Devoid of such important spiritual concepts as love, understanding and sympathy. Don’t we see something similar in the scary photos of Mariupol, Buchi and other Ukrainian cities? Horror, fear and pain are spread by those who try to take over others.

Instagram / @skutog.mor It's amazing how you can call yourself a fraternal people to those you hurt so much. Do brothers do this to each other? There's no brotherly love here. It probably never happened. There was only envy, anger and the desire to take someone else's.

Instagram / @my_galay_figures Life wisdom and editorial advice Many residents of the invader country are seriously offended when they learn how they are called throughout the civilized world. Their argument is that they are not doing anything wrong. They live quietly and do not disturb anyone. That's the point. It is impossible to be uninvolved when the power of your country is doing such horror.

There are no longer those who are not to blame. If you are silent and do nothing to change power, then you are involved. If you're not helping the victims, you're involved. And do not be offended that you are characterized as a cruel and terrible invader.
