Why did Soviet schoolchildren go to work in collective farms and plowed there like village schools?

Oh, let's remember! Let's set up an outing. youth. After all, the world has changed so much over these decades that the period of the seventies and eighties for those who found them now seems like a forgotten adventure. What were you thinking? What were you dreaming about? The reality was very different then.

Here's the editorial. "Site" I also decided to turn on nostalgia for a while. Surprisingly, some of us are still in those times. Let’s imagine early autumn, remember the old bus and take it to the town where we once spent our childhood and youth.

Back in youth, like going to the forest for mushrooms. Or secretly ran to a warm lake, spread out nearby in the fields, to hastily swim in the cold water. How they played Cossack robbers, in blinds and classics. And in the evening, sitting by the fires, told horror stories. I laughed until the morning. Or the potato ride. What an adventure!

It's exploited now. child labour forbidden. In Soviet times, young people were often involved in public works, among which was assistance to the collective farms. This usually meant cancelling classes for a few days and going to the village with the whole class.

Now it is difficult to say why it was necessary. Most likely, the harvests were too generous and the workers themselves simply did not keep up. Well, the pioneers with Komsomol are always happy! So we literally took it not just as an adventure, but as a feat.

Often this trip was with an overnight stay, and sometimes coped and during the day. So the bus comes, we load up, we pick up seats, and then we go to the field with songs. It was so much fun!

We are loading our belongings by the road, and a harvester is already ahead. After that, you need to collect the potatoes that he turned. Short briefing And all the food, with our buckets, rush to collect! At first it is easy, but soon you feel tired, and the bucket becomes heavier every time.

When they stayed overnight, all the candy in the village shop magically disappeared in one evening. cornflake. That's when we thought about our brakes, even though the hostesses were feeding us dinner. And then at midnight they laughed under blankets and looked out the window to see the distant stars.

The morning in the village was also particularly warm. We were shown how to milk a cow, we also tried steamed milk. We went to farms and wrinkled our noses with the smell, but livestock We were fascinated. Hey, there, look! A real horse! Even then, we were children of asphalt, even without computers and phones. And how happy we were! So much so that we still remember those days with warmth.
