Majadra: bulgur with black lentils

Magadra — a traditional dish of middle Eastern cuisine, which is usually made from rice and lentils. Sometimes from bulgur and lentils.

 

So, for majadra of bulgur with black beans we need:

  • 1/2 Cup black Beluga lentils;





  • 1/2 Cup bulgur;

  • 1 onion;

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon;

  • olive oil for frying;

  • salt to taste.

Preparation:

1. Wash the lentils and fill with water. The water in which it will cook, we subsequently need, so pour enough don't be greedy. Bring lentils to a boil and cook for twenty minutes.

2. While lentils boil, rinse the bulgur, and throws it in a colander.

3. Svalivsheesya lentils too, discard in a colander, but keep a half-Cup of liquid, which has become the water in which the cooked lentils.

4. Onion finely chop and fry in olive oil with a pinch of salt. Or a pinch of sugar, as delicious. The main thing is not just to solicitorgeneral onion and fry it until crispy brown edges.

5. Now all the joins. In a frying pan to the onions put the lentils, bulgur, cinnamon, and salt to taste. Mix everything together, pour carefully reserved lentil broth, cover and simmer on very low heat for ten minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.



Spread our majadra on plates, decorate, for example, cucumbers and try.
