JIBM Watson will create a platform for smart urban lighting
The company Echelon and IBM Watson IoT signed a contract on creating a computer system smart urban lighting, which will reduce energy consumption and to increase safety on the streets.
The platform will help municipalities to collect data from sensors and other connected devices, which will arrive in artificial intelligence IBM Watson for further processing. In particular, Watson will provide adaptive decision-making process and automatiseret urban lighting in real-time.
Equipped with sensors, the lights will light up when approaching pedestrians and off when no one near. Smart lighting can adjust to low-visibility conditions on the roads (in a snowstorm or fog, for example) and the level of congestion of the route. The transition from enabling the timer to enable you need to reduce the cost of electricity and the load on the network. The city will not have to spend energy in vain, in the hours when the streets are no pedestrians, and road machines.
According to a study conducted by analyst Peter Newman from Business Insider, by 2021 the world will be 22.5 billion devices the Internet of things. In 2016 their number was 6.6 billion Investment in this area over the next 5 years will grow to $4.8 trillion.
Collect energy steps and recycle it into electricity will be the pavement of the quarter boulder Plaza in Las Vegas. The energy goes to lighting the streets, and if not enough, will help a solar panel. published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
