Tablets and smartphones will be ultra-slim

Now the most cumbersome part of gadgets is a cooling system, and General Electric was able to solve this problem. Compact cooler will make the gadgets even thinner. One of the most cumbersome parts of a laptop, tablet or smartphone is cooler. It not only takes a lot of space in the building, but also noisy and consumes a lot of energy.

General Electric has made a breakthrough in this area and has released ultra-slim cooler, devoid of these shortcomings. The company showed a unique coolers, the dimensions of which do not exceed the size of a credit card. They used the technology, originally designed for jet engines.

The invention is called "Dual piezoelectric cooling jets" (Dual Piezoelectric Cooling Jets). The principle of operation of the new cooler is quite simple, it reminds me of how our lungs. The device expands to suck in hot air and then pushes it away.

Microfluidic technology is ten times cooler accelerates the natural processes of heat transfer. Due to the fact that the maximum thickness of the device is only 4 mm, manufacturers will be able to accommodate a much more powerful stuffing in existing form factors or to create ultra-slim device.

As claimed by General Electric, the new cooler consumes two times less energy than existing ones and takes twice less space. In the near future the company intends to license its solution to manufacturers of gadgets, so expect ultra-thin tablet is long.
