Gypsy caravan

Gypsies are eternally wandering people, they had always moved in carts pulled by horses. Gypsy wagon - it's actually a house on wheels. Different versions of the carts are found throughout Europe and even in America there are, but most famous for the English version — Vardo. The time when wardo used to restrict the most was at the end of XIX — beginning of XX century. Even before the Second world war you often find such a plan of Vardo, slowly moving on the roads of England, Wales and Scotland.


Vardo is a one-room house. It has everything necessary for life oven — for cooking and heat, beds, boxes and small Windows. The door is at the front, and the rear is the tail. Underneath stacked boxes for storage of kitchen appliances. Under the platform, between the wheels, is other boxes, and even a chicken coop and a variety of things hanging on the hooks and ropes. The whole wagon is not heavy, it is no problem to carry and one horse. There are several different types of Vardo.


The easiest and most comprehensive open Vardo. This flat cart attached to the sides of the hoops, on which is stretched a canvas roof, it protects against dowda and sun. Behind is a wall with a small window. The entrance to the Vardo can be curtained. Basically, the furnace is located in the front left side, at the entrance, her pipe passes through the roof into the street. Another modern addition to Gypsy home — tent. In this sense, the Gypsies are far ahead of the current advanced campers: in addition to the homes and installed large tents.


Gypsies cut a long, flexible branches, put them in two rows in the ground. All this construction is covered with canvas or blankets are not needed, and was quite a full-fledged housing.
