India bans plastic bottles

"Today the authorities have banned the use, sale and manufacture of plastic packaging in the city. We won't make absolutely no exceptions. Plastic is a threat to the environment.", comment for the mayor of new Delhi.

The first attempt to stop the production and sale of packaging film and plastic bags have taken power Delhi in September.

The city administration also noted that plastic bags are a risk for many cows that just roam around the city.

 




According to some, in Delhi, where the lives of 17 million people every day are produced 575 tons of plastic waste. Attempt to limit the use of plastic made 3 years ago, but it failed, as the restriction was not full and only applies to packages that are used to trade.

 




It should be noted that anyone who violates the ban will be fined up to 100 thousand rupees (about two thousand dollars) or detention for up to five years.
