GMO corn will appear in the European Union Bashny.Net

The European Parliament has voted in favour of the farming on the territory of the EU of genetically modified maize. Now local farmers can grow the type of maize "pioneer 1507" American companies Du Pont and Dow Chemical. 19 of the 28 Ministers of the Council of Europe considered the decision wrong, but the voting system, their objection is not enough.





The European Commissioner for health and consumer protection Tonio Borg said that once the voting has not gained a qualified majority on a question which concerns the prohibition, the European Commission has yet to approve the proposal.
