German scientists have built their own electric car

At the Frankfurt motor show their masterpieces bring not only famous automakers. Their development on the prestigious exhibition is going to present one of the Dresden institutes. Scientists have developed the electric car has been ultra-light body and enviable dynamics.

The Dresden Institute of polymer technology researches including the possibility of use in the automotive industry ultralight materials. There is therefore nothing surprising in the fact that the concept InEco has got a body made of a special material – hybrid steel and reinforced carbon fiber plastic. In addition, the electric sports car is different, according to the developers, "a carefully conceived layout of the body and an optimized power plant". Eventually the weight of the concept does not exceed 900 kg including lithium-ion batteries.

Quite compact coupe (4 200 mm in length, 1 870 mm in width and 1,400 mm in height) equipped with a 120-horsepower electric motor. Due to the relatively low weight of InEco is able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The maximum speed of the sports car reaches 160 km/h. According to the developers, on one charge of batteries, the concept can travel up to 140 km depending on the driving conditions.

Will I get the concept a chance for further development, is not specified, but it is impossible to exclude that the Institute will share their experience with any of the manufacturers.
