Sweden introduces a six-hour working day with full pay

Sweden introduces a six-hour working day, in an effort to reduce sick leave, boost efficiency and make staff happier.



The leadership of staff in the Swedish town of Gothenburg, decided to take part in some experiment. One Department will work six hours a day, while another will work seven. Further, these two divisions will be compared to understand whether the increase shorter days efficiency. Hundreds of Swedish workers will take part in the experiment, a six-hour working day in the hope that it will cut sick leave and save the country money.
Mats Pilhem, Deputy mayor of the Left party Gothenburg, hopes the six-hour working day, for staff will impact fewer sick days, and better physical and mental shape. He added: "We think it's time to give this a real course in Sweden".
He claimed that the manufacturer of the cars in the city have already experimented with a six-hour day with promising results. He added that other sectors such as social assistance, the problem was not the lack of employees, but the fact that people. However, opposition politicians said it looks like a cheap trick to win favour ahead of elections, adding that the policy was unsuccessfully tried before.
