Electric car Kia Soul EV is more environmentally friendly than diesel counterparts





Experts independent testing laboratory TÜV Nord has certified the Soul EV for compliance with standard ISO 14040 "Environmental management – life cycle Assessment – Principles and structure". They studied the negative environmental impact of both the car and the process for its production, given the specifics of the materials used, emissions and disposal of electric cars after decommissioning.

This approach allows to obtain a complete picture of the impact of electric vehicle on the environment. By the way, comparing new electric model with diesel counterparts, experts came to the conclusion that the new product emits at 39.7% less greenhouse gases.

Kia's first product was successfully certified by the TÜV Nord specialists in 2008. It was a CEE'd of the first generation. The issuance of a regular certificate brought the total number of Kia models that meet the requirements of ISO 14040, to 11.

The product development process used Kia, involves the minimization of the negative impact of production processes, the concern for the environment. The same applies to all vehicles of Koreans, which were developed later than 2006.

New electric car Kia Soul EV just came out in the series. The car will be on the European market at the end of this year.





Inside the electric vehicle to detect a battery lithium-ion polymer battery of 27 kWh and a 109-HP electric motor. The model is characterized by a torque at 284 nm. It is expected that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds, while its top speed will be 145 km/h.

Soul EV electric car was created based on the model of Soul with internal combustion engine. The owner of the new car is expected to be able to drive about 190 miles without recharging, to replenish the battery life is a little less than five hours.
