Hybrid new KIA at the Geneva motor show Bashny.Net

At the Geneva international motor show the company KIA Motors has presented four new products — the subcompact city car Picanto next-generation, sporty fastback Stinger and Niro hybrid model Plug-in Hybrid and Optima Sportswagon Plug-in Hybrid.





The new version of the Picanto will go on sale in Russia in mid-2017. The car will be offered with the 1.0 MPI engine with a power of 67 BHP and the 1.2 MPI engine capacity of 84 HP, Both petrol unit has been improved compared to the current generation model. Cars with an engine capacity of 1.0 liters will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a more powerful version with the engine 1.2 liters will receive a 4-step "automatic".









Multimedia Picanto is equipped with a touch display with a diagonal of 7 inches. Refers to support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the integration with smartphones. The car also provides a module for wireless charging for mobile devices.









In Geneva represented the first time the European version of the new model Stinger, which had its world premiere at the North American international auto show in Detroit in January 2017.





For Stinger will be offered three engines: 2-litre petrol turbocharged (maximum power of 255 HP and maximum torque of 353 N·m) turbo diesel with a working volume of 2.2 liters (200 HP, 440 N·m) and a 3.3 V6 petrol twin-turbo (370 HP, 510 N·m). In the top version, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.





At the Geneva motor show saw the debut of the KIA Niro crossover Plug-in Hybrid. Its propulsion system is a combination of a gasoline engine with direct fuel injection 1.6 GDI, the electric motor unit and lithium-polymer batteries with a capacity of 8.9 kWh.





The crossover uses the technology of regenerative braking. The kinetic energy is converted to electric that allows you to recharge the battery when decelerating or braking. The new system EcoDAS (Eco Driving Assistant system eco-driving) gives the driver tips on how to drive for maximum fuel economy in different driving situations.





 

Sales of KIA Niro Plug-in Hybrid will begin in Europe in the third quarter of 2017. KIA currently has no plans conclusion Niro Niro or Plug-in Hybrid on the Russian market.





Finally, the model Sportswagon KIA Optima Plug-in Hybrid. Part of its power plant consists of economical two-liter Nu engine family with direct injection and a 50-kilowatt electric motor with lithium-ion polymer rechargeable battery with stored energy of 11.26 kW·h total capacity is 205 HP, torque of 375 nm.





The car is equipped with multimedia system with 8-inch touchscreen display, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
