Azaleas of Ofuna Kannon Temple

Ofuna Cannon is a 1,300-year-old Buddhist temple in Om City, Japan, located about 30 minutes by car from Yokota. The temple is located in a cup-shaped depression surrounded by hills covered with very beautiful shrubs of azalea. Between April and May, the hills light up brightly when 20,000 azalea shrubs open in full bloom.
The paved paths along the bushes are perfect for walking and attract a huge number of tourists. Azalea festival is held in the middle of spring, when the temple is overflowing with thousands of tourists. Azaleas also bloom at the Nizu Shrine in Bankio Ku. In the vicinity of the shrine grows about 3,000 azaleas - about 100 species, including rare breeds such as the black flower carafune.

Japan has many flower parks - Hitsuziyama Park, Ashikagi and Hitachi Park, Seaside Park - just some of the most beautiful of them.
