Toshiba introduced the first hard disk 5 TB
Japanese company Toshiba has become the new leader in the race to expand the capacity of the hard drives, bringing to market new models of 4 and 5 TB.
Series MD04ABA-V introduces the first 3.5-inch hard disk drive Toshiba volume of 5 TB with a low spindle speed and the "short" model 4TB. The drives are targeted at video surveillance systems, DVRs, NVRs and hybrid devices.
The capacity of the new Toshiba drives allows simultaneous flow to record high resolution video up to 32 cameras, round the clock, seven days a week. New Toshiba hard drives are equipped with sensors of angular fluctuations, so you can use them to create platforms of observation with RAID arrays.
The emergence of hard disks MD04ABA-V will make it possible to create a large data warehouse with fewer hard disks, to reduce the dimensions of the storage and to reduce power consumption in them. The first samples of the Toshiba MD04ABA-V will begin to ship to customers this month.
If the new disks can heat up to 70 degrees Celsius. They are allowed to be stored in the off state under the temperature from -40 to +70 degrees.
