Scientists have found a hormone responsible for the attachment of animals to humans

A group of researchers from the United States of America wondered about the attachment of pets to humans, which has long been a parable in the tongue. Scientists, which included doctors and veterinarians, as well as specialists in laboratory research, conducted a large-scale research work, during which the state of the organism of goats and dogs, as well as their owners, was studied.

These animals were chosen because they are believed to be the most attached to humans, which is not surprising in the case of dogs, but quite unusual in the case of goats.

Blood tests of animals and humans taken before they began living in the same house, and after some time living under the same roof, showed that the body of the owners and their pets dramatically increased the amount of oxytocin. Having excluded the external factors of such a change in the blood structure, scientists came to the conclusion that oxytocin is the substance responsible for the attachment of animals and humans.

To confirm this conclusion, the researchers took blood tests from several dozen animals living in shelters. But, as expected, the level of oxytocin in their blood was significantly lower than in pets living in humans, which is explained by the lack of attachment to a particular person.

Any practical application of the obtained knowledge is unlikely to be found, since artificially increase the amount of the "love hormone", probably no one dares. And the main result of the research was the confirmation of the assumption that the attachment of animals to people is a physiological, not an emotional property.

And so even the best animal treats are unlikely to increase a cat’s or dog’s love for you, as this feeling appears in a way that is not amenable to any adjustment. But still, treats for cats and for dogs raised by you should be present in the daily diet, as they make the life of your pets brighter.
