The global project for the development of SES has reached a qualitatively new level

The global project Power Clouds, which involves the promotion of one of the most promising renewable energy sources, is actively developing.

Its organizers encourage homeowners and business entities from around the world to jointly build solar power plants. Since its launch in March 2013, the initiative has attracted more than 50,000 participants from more than 100 countries, creating 13 shared distributed solar power plants with a total value of $60 million.

The Power Clouds project allows any owner of solar panels located anywhere in the world to rent out generating capacity – the project organizers will pay the owner a monthly fee for 20 years.

The estimated capacity of the 13 existing common power plants is 11.5 MW, which is enough to meet the electricity needs of about 10,000 people, as well as to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 212 tons (equivalent to planting 5 million new trees).

The first SES were built in Romania. Earlier this summer, construction of solar power plants in Japan began. Currently, Power Clouds experts are assessing the feasibility of creating SES in France and the United States of America.
