India plans to plant two billion trees, using the labor of young unemployed

The government of India wants to kill two birds with one stone: hire young unemployed people to those planted two billion trees on the outskirts of the roads in the country.

Under this plan, 300,000 young Indians will be able to get a job that will significantly help the country to reduce the unemployment rate among young people aged 15 to 24 years; in addition, it will help to fight climate change that affect the welfare of the state and to contribute to the improvement of roads, according to Inhabitat, referring to publications by The Hindu and TreeHugger.

"The length of roads of national significance is about 100 000 kilometers. Our plan is to plant two billion trees along them, which will create jobs for the unemployed, on the one hand, and to protect the environment, on the other hand," said Jairam Gadkari, Minister of Rural Development of India for the editorial of the Hindu. This is good news for India, which are six cities from the list of "10 cities with the most polluted air in the world."

In a recent study published by Treehugger, says that the leaves of the trees have the ability to capture dust particles and dirt from the air (those that cause smog and razreshayut air). Scientists from Britain conducted a study demonstrating the ability of these trees with the help of experiments made in the British city, with iron particles: 13 days, air pollution fell by 65%, after the region of the experiment trees (birches).
