Equipment with RES for the production of dried fruits installed in Kyrgyzstan

In the Issyk-Kul region, dried fruits can now be produced using innovative equipment as part of the pilot project of Kumtor Gold Company, which is implemented with the help of local youth organizations and communities. This was told to journalists during the press tour by the director of sustainable development of the company Douglas Grier.

The technology was developed by experts from Switzerland. The basis for drying chambers are 20-ton metal containers in which you can process both fruit and berry crops, and medicinal herbs, meat.

“A lot of apricot grows in our region, people do not have time to harvest the entire harvest on time, and those fruits that seem unsuitable can be dried with the help of our equipment, and in good weather just 3 hours to get dried fruits,” said Maksatbek Tyumenbayev, a deputy of the local Kenesh.

This installation works by solar panels, thanks to which the air inside the container is warmed up and blown out of the room by three fans operating from photovoltaic panels. Thus, the drying of fruit crops occurs.

The total capacity of the products is 20 tons, inside 5 wooden cabinets, in each of them 17 boxes. In total, we have equipped 6 containers, three of them we installed in the villages of Ak-Terek, Kyzyl-Suu of Jeti-Oguz district, Kara-Talaa of the Ton district, another one in the near future we plan to put in the village of Tort-Kul of the Tonsky district, said the executive director of the public association Top info plus LLC Sulaimankul Dzhusembayev.

All residents of the region who have products for drying, can contact the local Kenesh and use the equipment for free.

“We managed to collect these containers in a month and a half, we spent about a week with a team of 10-12 people on one drying,” Dzhusembayev added.

The cost of one converted container is about 450 thousand soms, but if the project is tested, the specialists will try to reduce costs.

“It is very important for us to contribute to the local economy and create additional jobs. There are a lot of fruits and berries in the region, but they are not processed on a large scale, thus there is no increase in value. We want to keep the crops intact and farmers have extra income, one of the options we are now offering farmers is dried fruit production, said Douglas Grier. Source: energy-fresh.ru
