50 tons of dead fish suddenly floated to the surface of the Mexican lakes

The residents of nearby villages of lake Cajititlan in the Mexican state of Jalisco observed a strange and terrifying spectacle on the surface of the pond inexplicably floated hundreds of thousands of carcasses of dead fish. Although local authorities claim that this terrible incident is part of a "natural cycle", the public authorities do not really believe those statements, believing that mass death of fish due to poor water management of the lake.

As noted in the government Department of the environment of Mexico, the current incident with the death of fish in the lake is not the first in October last year, the same was mysteriously killed 10 tons of fish. Whether it's the annual "cyclical" phenomenon, or is it caused by the harmful human activity?

According to the Department, at the present time the lake has lost about 50 tons of chubs. State officials believe that this is the fault of inadequate treatment of sewage at local treatment plants. However, the Department still denied access to the plants, so they can't provide any concrete evidence.

Argument in favor of natural causes of death of fish can be seen in the fact that in the period August – October, the lack of oxygen in the water caused by heavy rains in the rainy season, is the cause of death of freshwater fish in the lake. This seems quite logical, however, a sharp increase in the number of dead fish from last year (almost five times) is alarming and points to other, not yet identified factors. While local authorities do not provide more evidence of the "naturalness" of fish kills, public authorities decided to issue an alert about the danger of environmental disaster at the lake.
