Edward Snowden and other: portraits of American political prisoners from LEGO

Chinese designer AI Weiwei, who is a well-known figure in the field of creation of different things from recycled materials, found an unusual use for LEGO. AI Weiwei not only created a creative art project, but also could attract the attention of the public. The fact is that the Chinese master created from LEGO portraits of all the currently known political prisoners of the United States, and also those who is wanted for political reasons, such as former CIA technical specialist Edward Snowden.

To create unusual paintings from the designer took more than 1.2 million LEGO bricks. Only a makeshift canvas recreated the portraits of 176 political prisoners. What I wanted to say in his action, AI, is not known. The author himself refrained from any comments on this matter.

It is worth Recalling that over the last ten years, the media has repeatedly leaked information about U.S. political prisoners, some of which contain not in American prisons and abroad under the auspices of the United States, for example, in the prisons of Iraq. This, in turn, from a legal point of view makes the conclusion of such prisoners is different from the conclusion even in the most severe prisons in the United States. As a rule, these prisoners are accused of terrorism.

As for the idea of using LEGO to create portraits, by itself this idea is not new. Popular designer opens wide possibilities to create the most unusual things and installations.
