Scientists have created the illusion of invisibility

Obtaining the property of invisibility is perhaps one of the most coveted sci-Fi dreams: we have seen this property in spy fiction films, video games, cartoons, read about it in fiction books. Although scientists from Rochester University still had not solved the puzzle that would create invisibility cloak, they managed to create a very interesting optical illusion.

Taking a few optical lenses and having very complex mathematical calculations, the team created an optical device that is able to refract light waves around small objects. When a person looks through the system before the object it really disappears. Place the front of the device your hand, and you will not see part of it. In addition, this is the first of a three-dimensional system, where the background remains visible, while the item you want to hide, remain invisible.

Of course, the system is not perfect, and there are a number of limitations. For example, the illusion of invisibility will only work in the framework of optical lenses through which to see people. In the video below at the 2:00 — 2:07 you can see that the "hidden" object for a moment becomes visible.

And yet, although scientists have not yet been able to create a real invisibility cloak, created an optical illusion really looks cool.
