Scientific workers at Harvard University reported that they were able to identify two chemical components, due to which it would be possible to replace "bad" fat cells in the human body useful fat burning cells. In other words, scientists are one step closer to developing more effective treatments for human obesity and, possibly, even creation is only a mythical pills from obesity, which would allow people to control their weight.
Scientists say that not all fats are equally useful. While white fat cells store energy in the form of lipids and contribute to obesity, cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes, the less common brown fat cells store energy in iron-rich mitochondria, and are responsible, as shown by laboratory mice to monitor for the reduction of triglyceride levels and insulin resistance (body resistance to insulin). However, new studies also show that brown fat cells actually burn "bad" white fat cells.
Professor Chad Cowan and his colleagues at Harvard University say they have developed a method to determine the special chemical compounds that are pushing the original fat cells to the production of "good" brown fat cells and reduce production of "bad" white fat cells. Scientists report that using your method they have been able to identify two such chemical compounds which in turn could be used in the case of human beings.
Other drugs (including viagra) have the possibility of transformation of white fat cells to brown. But the effect of these drugs is only temporary in nature. However, the new method shows a stable and long-term transformation of the cells, which in turn opens great potential in the long-term "medicinal property".
But scientists admit that the adaptation of these two useful chemical compounds in the sphere of practical use is not a very easy task. Besides being a new method of cell transformation will require long clinical test, the scientists see another problem: both the chemical compounds act on the same molecule that, in turn, is responsible for inflammatory reactions in the body. The problem is that during long-term use of these chemical compounds without proper modification may decrease the effectiveness of the immune system.
A team of scientists under the leadership of Cowan came to such results by cataloging a total of about one thousand connections. At the moment the scientists test in mice two compounds to determine their effect on metabolism and the immune system. The researchers also plan to apply to pharmaceutical companies, so that gave researchers access to their databases containing information about more than one million possible suitable chemical compounds, among which, perhaps, there are suitable candidates that do not have negative properties as in turn, the first two.
