Free Bay - self-sufficient floating farm from Canada

A couple from Canada decided to show the world how to live without creating waste, without polluting the environment, without spending money and living quite compact. They constructed a floating complex of 12 interconnected platforms, which is their home, greenhouse, lighthouse and a dance Studio.

Free the Bay (Freedom Cove), so called symbolic floating farm, which was built by sculptor Wayne Adams and former ballet dancer and Woodcarver Catherine king in 1992. Two artists, who lived by selling their work in local shops, now Supplement their income by sales of vegetables and fruit collected during the year on their own greenhouses, in addition to fishing.

They generate their own electricity using solar panels, and collect rainwater and water from a nearby waterfall for a drink.
The pair tried to raise chickens, but the forest predators are a big problem, so they abandoned the idea.

From June to September, Free the Bay is open to accept tourists. They teach people how to live sustainably, and to consume more consciously.published
