Manufacturer Mercedes-Benz does not preclude the establishment of a joint venture with Apple

The Daimler company, a subsidiary company of automaker Mercedes-Benz, is considering a joint venture with the American Corporation Apple. This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Daimler AG Dieter Zetsche in an interview with the official magazine of the German stock exchange entrepreneurs Unternehmer.

According to him, there are "different types" of cooperation with Apple and Google, which can be carried out, since the manufacturers understand that cars are the next generation cannot be built without input from experts in the field of telecommunications and software. "Many things are possible," said Zetsche.

The emergence of the possibility of the autopilot driving made software a key component for creating future car. "Google and Apple want to create a system software for cars and to introduce the whole ecosystem around Apple and Google in the car. It can be fun for both parties," said Zetsche.

One option that Daimler could be building cars with the help of digital technology of their American partners, said Zetsche, adding that his opinion is "purely theoretical". The company even is ready to agree to participate in a joint venture to produce cars, but the main condition is the involvement of the sales and service of finished products.

The head of Daimler said it will not allow the company to be reduced to the role of the silent provider, just producing cars for the giants of Silicon valley. "We do not want to become contractors who do not have direct communication with customers and deliver the hardware to third parties," said Zetsche.

"We see the impressive success of these firms in their areas and their financial power. In this regard, they can Express respect, but not to freeze in fear", he added.
