Frankfurt motor show has not really started, however, the company Porsche has already submitted a contender for the title of best exhibit. Beautiful in every sense of the Mission car E Concept is a fully electric supercar with support for fast charging and is capable, according to Porsche, to drive the track nürburgring faster than 8 minutes.
Under the noble, elegant and slender body Mission E are two synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets, using technology that was used by the company in the victorious 919 Spyder this year at Le Mans. Both engines provide a total of 447 kW (600 HP), which is sufficient to disperse electric supercar to "hundreds" in just 3.5 seconds and to 200 km/h — slightly less than 12 seconds.
Power is one thing, but electric motors are renowned for high torque. The Porsche, unfortunately, in relation to Mission E numbers, no signs, and we can only guess that this figure is also impressive as a General idea of power. In the end, we will all find out when will be announced the results of the round Robin races Mission E in Frankfurt.
However, whatever power and torque, the most important part of any electric vehicle is its battery. And if you believe Porsche, wait for long hours until the battery will charge up after the next trip, you won't have to. The company has developed 800-volt charging system, capable of only 15 minutes to charge the battery Mission E to 85 percent of its overall cruising range of 500 kilometers. In addition, the car has an induction charging coil that allows you to wirelessly charge the battery of the car.
Mission E is still only a concept, it is unclear how and where the owners of this car will be able to fully take advantage of this 800-volt system turbotrade, however, Porsche indicates that the car battery can be charge and normal charging stations, however, the charge in this case will be much slower.
If we talk about the service, E Mission has a number of advantages compared to conventional petrol supercars. Like Tesla, Mission battery E arranged in the bottom that, first, gives the car a low center of gravity, and secondly, facilitates access and allows quick replacement. And as the battery is stretched almost the entire length of the car, and on each of its axes, an electric motor, this allows to evenly distribute the weight of the Mission E. the Numbers the company does not specify, but said that did a great job in order to make the electric supercar as light as possible. To address this question the body is constructed using aluminium, steel and carbon fiber.
The interior, like the exterior, is the quintessence of all electric. As electric do not need a tunnel gearbox and the propeller shaft, for designers offers a lot of room for creativity and opportunities to make the car feel more light and spacious. In addition, there is a lot of extra space for installing various electronic devices, piles of boxes and niches for phones, wallets and glasses.
Mission E is a sedan that seats four people, each of which will be located in their individual lightweight bucket seat. The instrument panel is slightly angled towards the driver and has special sensors that monitor where he is currently watching. All the necessary management of media and systems are duplicated on the steering wheel with special buttons.
If you are a person who can not live without the Internet and always willing to share their current mood with the world, then Mission E ready to help you in this. The car has a small camera that recognizes your face, converts it to an emoticon on the dashboard display, and then offers to share it on social networks, along with information about your current speed and route.
The center console has more high-tech stuff, allowing, for example, to control the media system and air gestures.
As mentioned above, E Mission is still only a concept, but I would like to believe that Porsche will find a way to start the production of this futuristic electric supercar that, with proper pricing policy, no doubt, will be able to impose competition reigning at the moment, the Tesla Model S. published
