Bamboo fittings: environmental steel replacement

In developing countries, reinforcing steel is very popular, but most often modest production capacity can not meet the needs of the construction market. Perhaps that is why the scientific laboratory of Singapore Future Cities Laboratory has proposed the construction of a simple rebar instead of bamboo. Durable bamboo has all the necessary qualities to replace the steel when needed.





During the experiments, the bamboo has superior strength, many materials — including steel reinforcement. Another great feature of bamboo is light weight — it is easy to assemble and transport. Bamboo grows with rapid speed and so is quite inexpensive.
