In Germany, the largest building energy-efficient settlement

In Germany the construction of the village of Heidelberg is the world's largest residential complex, created on the principles of passive house. It will include 162 apartments, as well as to be broken into vertical gardens and solar panels are installed. The house of the village will be expected to provide themselves with energy.

Design firm Frey Architekten specially developed for building different categories of people. Among the 162 apartments can be seen as a small dwelling with one bedroom and family housing for 4-5 people.

The residential complex will be fully energy efficient. For this purpose it is equipped with solar panels and a clever ventilation system. To avoid wasting energy you could even paint on the walls — it will oxidize the nitrogen oxides, converting them into harmless nitrates. The air will be oxygenated.

Each apartment will have a balcony. The building is also equipped with vertical gardens and green spaces on the roof.

The village of Heidelberg meets the five key principles of Frey Architekten: environment, accessibility, integration, innovation and profitability. The firm intends to build such housing, which will serve the inhabitants of life. The construction will be completed in 2017.

At the end of July in Los Angeles opened the first apartment houses zero energy consumption. It is equipped with solar panels, allowing residents to save on monthly electricity up to $100.

Another similar project Biosphera 2.0 — specifically designed for travel. The house meets the energy standards of Passivhaus and Minergie and produces energy, which ensures its needs. Rooftop solar panels are installed. Due to the construction of the building without heating and cooling all year round keeps the room temperature at 21-25° C. If necessary, the building can be dismantled and transported to another place. published
