Honda will test their own robomobili on the roads of California

Robomobiley have turned out a very good year. Develop their own systems of automatic driving engaged in several large companies, including both the IT giants and automakers. Who among these companies also added Honda. The project to create its own system of automatic control of car runs smoothly, and now Honda received permission from the authorities of the city of Concord, California, USA, on testing its robomobiley on city roads.

This summer, the company showed a prototype Acura RLX, the system comprising several sensors and computer "brain", processing sensor data. But after that Honda has stopped something to talk about their cars. Now the secret is out, and the company has announced its own plans to develop a car with a computer control system. By the way, is now in California have the right to test Volkswagen, Mercedes, Google, Delphi Automotive, Tesla Motors, Bosch, Nissan, Cruise Autimation and BMW.

Tests robomobiley is now allowed not only in the state but also in Nevada, Michigan and Florida.

Interestingly, companies are not only the creation of entire systems on driving, but also the individual elements of these systems. For example, on Friday, just ten auto companies have agreed to equip their machines automated braking system, which is triggered if sensors detect an obstacle the car, which will inevitably clash with (here is meant not only the car, but also any other object which can be dangerous).

The agreement was signed by Audi, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. Companies have promised to soon build a similar system into all of its cars, but unfortunately, the date of the project is unknown. Nevertheless, it is quite an interesting achievement, as mentioned companies produce more than half (57%) of all cars in a year.

There is still the possibility that officials will not wait until the company voluntarily begin to fulfill this obligation. It is likely that in the near future will simply passed a law imposing an obligation on vehicle manufacturers to install an automatic braking system in every new car.

According to experts, such a step would help reduce the number of accidents by 80% in the US. In this country as a result of accidents killed 1,700 people and injuries of varying severity received 500 thousand.
