"Alice in Wonderland" has been banned in China because of talking animals





In 1931, General Ho Chien banned children's book "Alice in Wonderland" in China's Hunan Province. The reason for the ban was that in animal-tale characters were speaking. "This is unacceptable - to inspire children to the idea that animals have the same intellectual level as the people!" - Outraged the general said. Fortunately, this stupid ban is now lifted and Hunan children can freely read this wonderful book.
