"Fatty" thoughts contribute to obesity

Through advertising, starring skinny models in our society is becoming increasingly widespread opinion that such a figure is ideal. But despite this, in the world there are more overweight people. Research of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology say that if teenagers with normal weight think about themselves that they are complete, it is likely popolneyut.

There are many complex reasons, because of which the teenager can gain weight. For example, it may be associated with psychosocial stress, when the young man suddenly sees the extra fat in the waist area. It automatically compares himself with those who in his opinion has the perfect physique, falls into depression and began to gain weight.

The second explanation - young people who think they are plump, radically changing their eating habits, and often miss the scheduled meal. Disclaimer breakfast may lead to obesity.

A negative factor is the diet you started, but could not stick after a while: in this case, the body will start to gain weight rapidly, seeking to return to the index, which was before the diet.

Of course, there is another great tool to fight obesity - exercise. However, the researchers came to the conclusion that at a young age exercise can not dissuade the person that he is stout - negative self-esteem and penchant for exaggeration are stronger.

In order to draw a conclusion about the impact of self-esteem on the weight, the researchers surveyed in 1995-1997 1196 adolescents of both sexes. Later, scientists have met with these people again in 2006-2008, when the children become adults.

Half of the participants had normal weight. But among those who are overweight, the researchers noticed a clear difference: 59% of girls who considered themselves full before adulthood overweight. These girls were guided by measuring their body capes index (or BMI). Among the women who pay attention to waist circumference and guided this indicator to plead complete indeed fuller maturity in 79%.

Of the girls who did not consider themselves full adolescence, fuller 31% of those who are guided by BMI, and 51% of those who pay attention to waist circumference.

Girls are more likely to critically evaluate themselves than boys: in a recent survey of the Institute gave a positive answer 22% of women and only 9% of young men. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we often see on television women, not men.

Researchers believe that society must move away from the usual pattern, but instead emphasize the importance of a healthy diet, sleep and exercise. But most importantly - stop show too thin supermodels as an ideal.
