For most Russians, the happiness is still associated mainly with money

A group of scientists of the St. Petersburg branch of the Higher School of Economics, under the guidance of the American sociologist Ronald Inglehart conducted sociological research on the subject of happiness and well-being of Russians in comparison with residents of other countries.

The researchers concluded that in Russia the concept of happiness still lies largely in money - in contrast to the developed Western countries, where the main feature of happiness is considered the degree of freedom of choice of each person. The reason for this state of affairs in our country, the researchers call a situation where the collapse of the Soviet Union was followed by a protracted economic crisis: in the 1990s, in Russia there was a sharp drop in the index of subjective happiness. Nowadays rate gradually began to grow, but only thanks to the young people on the personality that "perestroika crisis" had no effect.
