Some people are prone to suicide because they can not tolerate distress and do not believe their pain subsides

According to one of the study's authors, David E. Clonskeagh, a psychologist at the University of British Columbia (Canada), they managed to establish two main reasons for suicide - is unbearable anguish and sense of hopelessness.

Previously, it was believed that suicidal tendencies are inherited, in addition, the risk of suicide increases dramatically in the presence of certain diseases, such as autism or depression. However, it is too general statements that do not allow to effectively identify potential suicides, so Clonskeagh and his colleagues have developed a questionnaire to 120 people who tried several times to kill herself in the past three years. It turned out that most of them did so because of the unbearable mental suffering, which, as it seemed to have no end, with many of the respondents over the years nurtured suicide plan, which does not allow to speak about their impulsive behavior.

However, the number of people who only think about suicide, always more than those who do decide on it - according Clonskeagh, it is because the self-preservation instinct and fear of death inherent in human nature itself. In addition, from the terrible human behavior often prevents communication with loved ones, for whom the potential suicide bomber responsible.
