Swiss watchmaker 240 years ago, I made a robot that could write

Mechanical malchik

It may seem that the robots - the invention of modern times, but Pierre Jaquet-Droz invented a robot even 240 years ago.

Jacquet-Droz was a famous Swiss watchmaker who used his skills and was able to construct a robot writer. The car looked like a doll boy in the life-size, and he wrote with pen and ink.

Inside the robot is a complicated mechanism of gears and mechanical parts which can be changed depending on what is required to write. It was necessary to choose which letter should be written on the paper, insert the robot in the corresponding gears, after which he deduced the pen on the paper required letter and wrote everything I wanted to master.
